Meet the Horses!

Meet the horses at the center of Allie’s world.

Wilson Pickett

Wilson is a 19-year-old Hanoverian gelding who takes credit for teaching Allie all the cool Grand Prix moves.

They became partners in 2022, when Allie’s boss and trainer, Ashley Holzer, gave her the amazing opportunity to free lease Wilson from her long-time client. After slowly bringing Wilson back into work and taking the time to learn his quirks, Wilson and Allie headed down the Grand Prix centerline together and earned her USDF Gold Medal in 2024.

This quirky Grand Prix gelding is the first horse Allie has ever felt she could call her own since she was a child. He’s taught her how much older horses have to offer and how important quality care is in helping senior equine athletes have long, happy, and healthy careers.

Wilson isn’t the biggest overachiever, but he’s a certified good boy with a typical people-loving gelding personality. Allie is incredibly grateful for everything she’s learned from Wilson and every moment she gets to share with him in the barn.

Wilson’s favorite activities include being groomed, licking humans after eating treats, and showing off his flying changes. You can find him enjoying his turnout field most of the day or out exploring Southfields’ bridle paths while remaining (mostly) on his best behavior.

What’s next for Allie and Wilson?
